We are pleased to report the following news from Tokyo.
In March, 2009, the University of Tokyo has published the second volume of
"Old Maps of Tuva" by the renowned Masahiko Todoriki, throat-singer and
lecturer at The Institute of Oriental Culture, University of Tokyo.
This is the second in a series of books that index the Tannu-Uriankhai maps
drawn between the 18th and early 20th centuries, that is, from the Qing era to
the pre-Soviet period, linked to the present Tuvan toponyms.
Old Maps of Tuva 2, “Tannu-Uriankhai Maps in Eighteenth Century China.” is
published by The Research and Information Center for Asian Studies,
